Our Philosophy

A home from home environment

Our philosophy is to look after our residents to the highest of standards, in a home from home environment creating an atmosphere to meet all Care, Social, Spiritual and Psychological needs of the individual.

Each resident is treated with the highest regard and as very special. We recognize each person’s right to air their views, voice their opinions, make choices, be fully informed at all times of their condition, and be given the help, understanding and support which is individually required.

We offer at all times, sensitive and conscientious care from competent, well trained staff who understand the needs of the elderly Sight Impaired/Severely Sight Impaired people. We are available to talk, assist and/or advise with any problems regarding health, benefits, general queries, or any worries (however big or small).

We believe that named key social staff for each resident gives the feeling of being part of the family group, having someone whom they come to know, relate to, to trust and confide in.

We are also committed to the spiritual requirements of the resident and act accordingly to ensure those needs are met.

It is an important part of our philosophy to provide quality care with respect, privacy and the dignity of the individual being uppermost in our minds.

Care programs are established from an assessment of individual needs, ensuring the retention of dignity and as much independence as possible. This aspect has particular relevance where rehabilitation into the community is being considered.

We encourage the involvement of families and their participation in the regular assessment of the resident, all of which add to the wellbeing of all involved.
