The Hastings & Rother Voluntary Association for the Blind, incorporating Healey House, is an enlightened and active organisation that responds to the personal needs of individuals with sight problems, and their families to ensure a total care environment.
To provide an environment in which the residents emotional and spiritual needs can be met.
To develop an atmosphere which will encourage residents to practice self-determination.
To establish a sensitive resident centered assessment procedure.
To encourage residents to maintain close links with staff and management.
To ensure anti-discriminatory practices are encouraged and followed in terms of race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation.
To provide adequate short-term respite and day care (in The John Taplin Day Centre) for people living within the community.
To provide an efficient and cost-effective service which meets the needs of the residents.
We are therefore committed to provide the highest standard in care where the interest of the residents are safeguarded by a personal contract.
